ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

We believe that the best way to reduce emissions is to reduce waste. Evolution Sage has established a unique partnership with Blue Planet Foundation, Kokua Foundation, and European company Lemnis Lighting to provide super-efficient LED lightbulbs to local schools and student homes. Once installed, these bulbs last twenty times longer than normal incandescent bulbs and use less than a tenth of the energy. For every bulb we succeed in installing in Hawai'i, it means 2,600 pounds of greenhouse gases that won't go into our atmosphere.

RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Evolution Sage puts your offset dollars immediately to work by building solar power in our islands that cut our need for imported oil. Sage offsets have made it possible for Hawai'i Island non-profit Kalani Honua to install a 50kW photovoltaic solar system at their facility in March, 2008.

Sage has also agreed to partner with MA'O Farm in Wai'anae on a solar energy project that is more than just win-win. MA'O is a non-profit, organic farm that provides training and job opportunities to at-risk youth while also providing some of the island's best-quality produce to local restaurants and farmer's markets. MA'O is expanding it's operations with a new farm building providing refrigeration, wash facilities, and office space for their successful program. With Evolution Sage offset funding, MA'O will be able to install a solar photovoltaic power system and prevent thousands of pounds of carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere through traditional oil-fired power. The system will also ensure that power will flow even during a black-out, cut hundreds of dollars off of monthly power bills that can instead go into charitable programs, and provide food security through local organic food production--additionally reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Now that's win-win-win-win for our local economy and environment!

Evolution Sage has also agreed to partner with Hawai'i Energy Connection to help bring low-cost residential solar systems to island households through the innovative "Kumu Kit." For years, photovoltaic solar panel systems have been out of reach for local families that have a hard time keeping up with the high cost of living in Hawai'i. Our support for the Kumu Kit initiative means that certain households will now be able to install solar on their homes and reduce our overall island dependence on fossil fuels.
