Energy Efficiency Initiatives:

The most effective (and immediate) way to save money and reduce global warming pollution is to cut demand in Hawai'i. There are several promising initiatives under exploration, including a campaign to replace incandescent light bulbs in homes and organizations.

Renewable Energy Development:

We also create offsets through the development of renewable energy projects. By replacing some of the power generated through the use of fossil fuels, our projects directly reduce global warming pollution. For every unit of power produced by a renewable energy project, one less unit of power is generated from the consumption of fossil fuel. By helping to build new renewable energy projects in partnership with Evolution Sage, you can feel good that your contribution enables a shift in power production that will transform our local energy infrastructure for the long term.

Sustainable Agriculture:

We are collaborating with researchers at the University of Hawai'i to help prototype a hybrid solution that creates renewable energy and a high quality organic fertilizer/soil amendment, while being carbon negative process.

Native Reforestation:

Reforestation and soil amendments help reabsorb the excess carbon in the atmosphere. They are also tangible, beautiful ways to reflect and see the impacts we are having on our environment and community. This is, however, the lowest on our list of solutions because of the lack of scientific rigor as well as the high costs.
