We help companies and individuals who want to take on climate change.  Sage’s core services consist of carbon consulting and carbon offsetting – both of which are designed to help reduce CO2 emissions and make Hawai‘i not only more efficient—but more self-sufficient.
 
To achieve CO2 reductions, Sage works directly with our clients to come up with a plan that usually involves a combination of internal efficiency measures and behavioral change, and a carbon offsetting program to cover core emissions that remain.  In those cases where a client follows the plan to eliminate their carbon footprint completely, the organization joins a small but growing network of “Sage Carbon-Neutral Companies.” Sage seeks to build a critical mass of “carbon-conscious” organizations and entities that not only reduce our state-wide carbon footprint, but actively patronize each other and earn the loyalty of carbon-conscious customers.

Carbon Consulting: Sage typically begins with baseline greenhouse gas Inventory for your organization, working in a personal and comprehensive manner with an organization point person to document your carbon footprint. All inventories are tailored to the client’s goals using the protocols developed by the World Resources Institute and World Business Council For Sustainable Development. Next, Sage can help Register your baseline emission level with The Climate Registry—allowing your organization to document and gain credit for your early reduction actions in any eventual regulatory schemes. Finally, Sage provides a comprehensive Emission Reduction Plan that provides specific recommendations and actions that will reduce your carbon footprint, including reducing voltage fluctuation in your electrical system, lighting alternatives, software solutions, and renewable energy options.
 
Carbon Offsets: Evolution Sage is the only organization in the world developing and supplying carbon offsets from projects right here in our Hawai‘i Islands.  Our growing portfolio includes only premium offsets created by energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that directly reduce carbon emissions in Hawai‘i—Sage does not sell forestry or other “sequestration” credits. The vast majority of our offset credits are generated by solar photovoltaic arrays that are slowly greening our energy infrastructure. Current projects range from a 50kW solar array powering a non-profit organization’s community dining and office area on the Big Island, to a unique program putting solar panels on residential rooftops on O‘ahu, to a program with youths in Wai‘anae to help make their family homes more energy efficient.
 
Marketing services:  Communication is central to our services, and to our long-term goal of a carbon-neutral Hawai‘i.  We partner with our clients to convert your climate change activity into a compelling story that turns heads in local media and public relation materials. We follow trends and current events in the carbon and environmental world that constantly inform and update our ideas, that can include targeted press releases, communication strategy workshops, e-communications tools, staff commitments, and other tools.
