Why We're Different

You're probably here because you want to do something NOW about global warming, and we started Evolution Sage for the exact same reason. But we're not like a lot of the other "carbon offset" organizations out there. We're different, and we hope that our uniqueness encourages you to utilize our services and offset with us.

For starters, we don't believe that "carbon offsets" alone will save our planet, and disagree with the notion that our clients should simply pay a dollar amount to feel better about consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Instead, we view carbon offsets as a bridge that can transition us to a zero carbon economy.

We believe that your offset contribution is an investment in a new and better way of life to come for our kids, not a license to keep polluting. In that same vein, we encourage every single individual and business we work with to do everything they can to cut their carbon footprint as much as possible. Our mission is to help make our clients carbon neutral primarily through emission reductions, and secondarily through carbon offsets through our Hawai'i-based projects. 

We're different from all other offset providers in our focus on one specific geographic area--Hawai'i. While anyone, anywhere in the world, can offset their carbon footprint with Evolution Sage and know they are getting the highest-quality carbon offsets available, we are investing in our islands to help transition an entire state from an unsustainable energy system to a 21st century island reality (self-sufficiency).

Why focus on Hawai'i? Every kilowatt we conserve through our energy efficiency projects or generate through renewable energy actually means much more to our atmosphere. (Think about it, we have to actually burn oil to transport it here to burn it). This is one reason our Hawaii-based offsets actually do more to help the global warming situation than comparable ones from other groups. But another reason is more personal--we live here and we love our islands. We know that if we don't do something now, our kids aren't going to be able to thrive in their own home.
