Global warming is happening. Rising global temperatures, accelerating glacial melt, and more intense weather patterns are already costing the planet billions of dollars and destroying traditional ways of life. The photos at right show a comparison of Muir and Riggs Glaciers in Alaska's Glacier Bay National Park. Greater than 65 meters thick in 1941, Muir Glacier has now largely become a lake.
As industrial economies expand, so does demand for fossil fuel products. Forecasters estimate that global energy consumption is expected to rise by more than 50% over the next two decades. Approximately 33 billion tons of carbon dioxide already enters the atmosphere due to human activities each year. Americans and Canadians are the main culprits - annually emitting an average of 20 tons of carbon per individual. If every individual in the world emitted at these rates, we'd need 12 planet earths to absorb this level of pollution! We all need to reduce our level of carbon emissions into the atmosphere by driving less, purchasing more local products, and reducing our energy usage.
Evolution Sage is working with concerned citizens and organizations to go "carbon neutral" (ie: reducing their net carbon emissions to zero). We provide carbon consulting services to reduce your footprint, and a direct conduit for purchasing Hawai'i-based CO2 offsets that make a real difference to counter global warming. Offsets allow individuals and organizations to take immediate action to go "carbon neutral" while providing the seeds for a cleaner, greener, and cooler planet for our children.
